Women's Eights Head - 1 March 2008

Bewdley RC's women's squad joined up with some (very tall) rowers from Warwick to enter a crew at the Women's Tideway (4.25 miles, the reverse course of the Oxford and Cambridge boat race).

Although relatively unprepared (having had two outings and two races) the Senior 3 crew of Jen Merchant, Charlotte Beswick, Joy Green (Warwick), Helene Moussard (Warwick), Natalie Smith (Warwick), Marleen Kok (Warwick), Philippa Capel and Laura Ray (coxed by Warwick cox, Corri McDowell) came an impressive 75th out of 236 competing crews - only 6 seconds behind the Senior 2 status local rivals Stratford RC.

Next stop for the club is the Men's Tideway to be held over the same course on 15 March 2008.

Ladies Pamper Night

Bewdley RC held host to a very different evening of entertain on 28 February 2008 - a ladies night!

All the men were excluded from the club for the night and the female membership of Bewdley RC turned up in force.

The evening, inspired and run by Sarah and Adrienne, invited the ladies of the club to pamper themselves with many treatments (manicures, massages, reflexology to name a few), jewels, cakes and (don't forget) Pimms and Cava.

The social committee are working hard and there are many new events for us all (men included) to look forward to including:

Saturday 5 April 2008 at 7.30pm - Back to School Quiz Night

Thursday 17 April 2008 at 8.30pm - an evening of Rhythm and Blues with Mike Sanchez

Saturday 31 May 2008 - Pub "n" Club evening including a live band (details to follow)
