Battle of Band winners to play at regatta
TOP Worcestershire band Reckless Paradise will be performing an exclusive one-hour set at Bewdley Regatta, hot on the heels of scooping the Worcestershire Battle of the Bands title. The band - made-up of Rebecca Muller-Jones lead guitarist and lead vocals, rhythm guitarist Laurence (Loz) Hopkins, drummer Simon Barbour and bassist Ben Warnett - formed in 2003. Having already recorded an EP titles "The Incident" the band will be heading to the recording studio again to record more of the self-written material. Best described as playing a style of music described as "classic rock meet metal" the band consistently draw crowds at all the local venues they play. Tickets for the gig from 8-9pm on Saturday, July 22 - which includes a disco from 8pm - will be available to purchase on the day at Bewdley Rowing Club. Success for crews at Burton and Llandaff
Bewdley’s senior three coxed eight A team reunited to win their Sunday final at Llandaff Regatta in Cardiff. They had not rowed as a crew since training for March’s Tideway event which ended up being cancelled.

Worlds looming for veteran duo
A GOOD display at Henley upped the stakes for a Bewdley Rowing Club duo in their preparation for the World Veteran Championships. Teresa Roberts and Jo Atkinson head to Hamburg this September in a confident mood after a promising few days at Henley Veterans Regatta. The pair won their heats comfortably on Friday against Star Club and then the semis on Saturday versus Maidenhead. But they lost in the final to an Inverness team who boasted two ex-internationals.
